According to the national social mentality survey the paper analyses the main characteristics of the current social mentality，including happiness，sense of safety，life stress，social support，social trust，national identity and social emotion. The study finds that the distribution of life satisfaction is not ideal. The feeling of food safety，safety of private information and safety of environment are low. The biggest life stress is from economic problem. The residents’ evaluation of social fairness is not high. The family is the main source of social support. The degree of residents’ national identity is high. Most of people incline to choose positive ways to solve social problems. The residents’ expectation to future social status is much higher，so the paper suggests paying more attention to that people’s reasonable social mobility expectation unachieved may lead to some social problems，and further puts forward some policy suggestions according current problems of social mentality.
