Guangzhou is not only an important birthplace of the lingnan culture，but also the zone of the Guang Fu culture，such as Guangdong opera，Guqin art，Guangdong colour porcelain，Guangdong embroidery，the flower market to greet the spring，Wuyang legend，lion awakening dance，Guangdong music，etc，just these distinct characteristics compose the soul of the city，and it’s also reveal the vitality of the city. In response to the country’s call，the year of 2006，Guangzhou launched the heritage protection work formally. In the past ten years，the heritage protection of Guangzhou in its working mechanism，the protection list，infrastructure construction and census，publicity，inheritance，education，research，the digital protection and the other aspects were all made great achievements，what’s more，Guangzhou model is established in the same time. Of course，the heritage protection work of Guangzhou also encountered a various of difficulties and problems，such as the protection mechanism，the protection list，the construction of infrastructure and so on，and compared with the advanced regions，there is still a large gap in the protection research and innovation development.
