The paper studied the status of human poverty in Wulingshan Contiguous Destitute Area from education, health, living conditions and transportation. The results show that high-quality education resources are in severe shortage, and the medical facilities and quality are poor, and the rural residents' living conditions are very bad, and the transportation infrastructures in rural areas are very underdeveloped. We find that lack of basic public services and severe inequality are the important reasons for human poverty. Therefore, the basic public services equalization is an important idea and direction for human poverty alleviation in Wulingshan Contiguous Destitute Area. <<
