This paper analyzes difference characteristics and correlation characteristics of regional economy of Wulingshan contiguous destitute area at the whole region and county scales. The results show that overall economic development of Wulingshan contiguous destitute area has continued growth, but development foundation is weak. The economic development level of most counties in the area is low, while counties with high level are scarce and dispersely distributing. The overall space difference is being narrow and space correlation of economic development is weak. Finally, the remodeling strategy of economic geography for this area was put forward. <<
