A host of theories and empirical studies show that，FDI in service industry had an important direct and indirect impact on the industrial structure adjustment of the host country. In this paper，the outcome of empirical analysis of Guangzhou shows that，the effects of FDI in service industry on economic growth and structural adjustment are quite different at different stages of economic development. At this stage，FDI is the reason of internal restructuring of service industry，and the change of internal structure also affects FDI. Further examination shows that，in Guangzhou，the effect of FDI on circulation industry is more significant than on production service and real estate，and the effect on social services is not obvious，which is in accordance with the changing path of FDI among various sectors of service industry since 2000. Therefore，FDI in service industry has a strong effect on structural adjustment. At last，policies of optimizing the internal structure of the service industry are put forward. <<
