This paper，base on the research on the evolution of São Paulo，analyzed some aspects of Brazilian urbanization and Brazil’s urban system which incorporates that Metropolitan Region inserted in a wider urban agglomeration called macro metropolis. The characterization of the economic base，demographic and social composition of the metropolitan development have been made. The Paper illustrated the main features of this metropolis urban form，in particular related to the real estate investments in central areas and the consolidation of peripheral areas，and the conditions of its infrastructure and urban mobility.
