This report using the 2012 Chinese general social survey data about the residents of charitable giving and volunteer service, in recent years the domestic individual resident in charitable giving and volunteer service major charity behavior of an exploratory investigation.Data showed that: (1) two types of charity behavior participation as a whole is not high, the volunteer service participation is lower;(2) the field of philanthropy simplification phenomenon is obvious;(3) the autonomy of the donation still is the mainstream;(4) the participation of philanthropy there are obvious differences between urban and rural areas;(5) the elderly residents participate in charitable activities has certain potential;(6) need to safeguard residents has certain economic, human and social capital to promote philanthropy.In addition, the report said, the implementation of the act of charity will be two types of charity behavior have a significant role in promoting.
