This report holds that the social development of Beijing City is gaining momentum，though some problems characteristic of the particular phase of development remain unsolved：the real estate price rises at a pretty fast speed，resulting in severe problems in people’s livelihood；traffic congestion remains a social issue，with people being rather unsatisfied with the ballot drawing for vehicle license plates；the income gap between urban and rural areas remains large；the need for new jobs is as pressing as it was；the living standard of the aged population is in dire need of improvement as the aging society approaches；the migratory pattern of inflowing families is noticeable，and their needs of social services need to be improved；community governance is challenged by complicated contradictions，and a pattern of multipartite joint governance is yet to be formed.
