The year 2007 is “Quality Year” of China’s higher education. Several state policies were issued to promote quality of higher education and won active response from local governments and universities and colleges. “Higher quality” set the tone of China’s higher education development in 2007 which indicates that China’s higher education has made substantial progress in transforming from quantitative expansion to qualitative improvement. The real challenge is how to effectively deal with quality problems. Trends of China’s higher education quality policy are also discussed.
