In 2007，the potable water of many Chinese cities was polluted，such as Wuxi，Jiangsu province，Yidu，Hubei province，Suyang，Jiangsu province and Changchun，Jilin province etc.These events suggested that the water pollution had become a severe and overall problem in Chinese society.Here，through analyzing the relationship between current cities’ potable water pollution and the local economic or social development，the author presents the circumstances of safe potable water of our urban cities，explores the reasons of water crisis and discusses some countermeasures of dealing with the potable water pollution.
